KEM Hospital Research Centre (KEMHRC), an NGO whose mission is to conduct problem oriented and problem-solving research in subjects which affect the life of common people, with an emphasis on women and children. “Comprehensive Tribal Model Village Development Program” proposes to develop the sustainable model of village in order to address the health issues and empowerment of women and adolescents. The project looks at targeting an all-encompassing age group through a womb to tomb approach in tribal areas and rural areas as the project is targeting holistic development of model villages. Project interventions implemented in the 26 Tribal Villages in Khed Block of Pune District, out of that 12 Villages will be developed as Model Villages. The expected outcome would be the interventions results in to community undertakes activities of the project in their own hands in order to enhance holistic development and sustainability. The end result would focus at creating model tribal villages and healthy mothers with healthy outcomes which could be handed over to the government and replicated in different tribal areas.
